As far as the question on the HomePath above I fully agree with David; you don&#039;t want to put 3% unless you HAVE to, the risk based rate adjustment is significant. Go 5% all day</description>

The 5% down payment requirement may be an &quot;investor overlay&quot; which is added restriction specific to that one lender and not coming from Fannie Mae.  However on the Home Path program there is a fairly large improvement in the interest rate when you put down 5% vs. 3%.  In most cases you are better off, provided you have the extra 2% for the down payment, when you invest a little more on the front end with the 5% down.</description>

Is it possible to be aproved foe such a mortgage?
